None of this is exactly surprising news. But it is interesting how quickly private jet travel has caught on for a new reason. The ease of booking Uber has changed everything – people now share rides, tools, homes, etc. – why not private jets? It seems clear that booking a jet by smart phone app will soon be the norm.
Bombardier pulled the plug on Learjet – moving the well-known brand to the graveyard. No longer will Learjets be available – at least new (the used market may be saturated with them). Bombardier has been making the Learjet for 60 years, but will cease production by the end of this year.
The move is expected to save the manufacturer $400 million per year.
